    Un gang commet des hold-up sanglants en Californie. Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), notre flic black de choc, commence son enquête dans un stand de tir à Beverly Hills. Ce stand de tir, tenu par un étrange homme d'affaires et sa belle assistante androgyne (Brigitte Nielsen) est le point de départ de tous ces casses. Axel, avec son bagout provocateur et ses méthodes peu orthodoxes, passe à l'action.
