Anna, a young troublemaker, lives on the outskirts of society alongside her brother Vincent and their pals Cindy and Mirko. Ever since their parents died violently, these friends have been her only family. They get by through small-time crimes and spend their days drifting without purpose. But behind closed doors, Anna writes in a journal, working on what could be her first novel. After a botched robbery nearly costs her life, she runs from her criminal ways and grabs a chance to break into the world of academia and art. The shift is tough, though -- she struggles to find her place and build a new identity, all while aching for her brother, who she misses terribly. Caught between her past and an uncertain future, Anna decides to finally take the reins of her own life.
