Shanghai Surprise

When a huge shipment of opium is lost during the 1937 Japanese invasion of China, it remains hidden for more than a year. However, missionary Gloria Tatlock (Madonna) has heard of the legendary stash of drugs and hires American con man Glendon Wasey (Sean Penn) to help her obtain the opium to relieve the suffering of wounded Chinese soldiers. The pair soon discover, however, that they aren't the only ones searching for the missing drug shipment.
