Set against the glitzy backdrop of the French Riviera and its seedy underworld is Oscar-winner Neil Jordan's (The Crying Game) clever, sexy caper, The Good Thief. Bob Montagnet (Nick Nolte) is a gambler and a heroin addict who is about to gamble it all on the casino heist of a lifetime. Two heists will take place - one real, one not - but which is which? Under the watchful eye of Roger, a policeman who would as soon save his long-time opponent as arrest him, Montagnet assembles a ragtag team to pull off the job and bamboozle their opponents. Inspired by the 1955 Jean-Pierre Melville classic Bob Le Flambeur, The Good Thief is a crackling remake that features a complex plot full of copies, originals, and a spectacular sleight of hand.
