The Rain People

Stifled by her marriage, a pregnant young woman (Shirley Knight) journeys across the United States. In her travels she bonds deeply with a brain damaged former football player (James Caan) who now has the mental capacity and the innocence of a child--and explores offbeat, sometimes dangerous intimate encounters.
