Samar, a young girl caught in the midst of war, escapes the surrounding turmoil through the Egyptian movies she watches on TV. Karim, a reclusive artist, stays holed up in his apartment in war-torn West Beirut, believing he's safe in his well-known neighborhood. An unexpected connection grows between them as they navigate the horrors of the civil war.
